Over 100 children recently attended the annual Coláiste Charn Tóchair (Carn Tóchair College) during the Carn Tóchair 2011 summer festival, Féile Charn Tóchair.

A Baby & Child Resuscitation course was held recently at An Carn Centre. The course was facilitated by Bernie McKenna (Community Resuscitation Development Officer) on behalf of British Heart Foundation NI.

A youth group from Maghera had a very special opportunity recently. Six young people and two leaders met President Mary Mc Aleese and her husband Dr. Máirtín Mc Aleese in the Áras in Dublin on Saturday 10th July, 2010.

Carntogher Community Pharmacy Project
Members of the Carntogher community have been benefiting recently through a new project – Carntogher Community Pharmacy. The project was established through Carntogher Community Associations aim to identify and address the main health issues affecting over 50’s and women in the Carntogher/Maghera area.
Carntogher Community Pharmacy Project celebrate successful 2010
On Tuesday 14th December, participants who took part in the Carntogher Community Pharmacy Project came together to celebrate the success of the project in 2010. The project ran over a 1 year period and involved members of the local community of varying ages. The project helped to identify and address many health issues affecting women, Over 50’s and young people living in Carntogher and Maghera areas. As a result a strong link has been established with local pharmacist – Adrian Glass (TM Glass Pharmacy) and has developed a community-pharmacy service within a rural community.

Feis Charn Tóchair: Scholarship Presentation.
A scholarship award ceremony took place on Friday 18 December. These were the scholarships won by the students as part of Feis Charn Tóchair in June 2009.
