Maghera and Swatragh kids go wild on birds

by Claire Doherty last modified 2007-02-07 23:59

It's now the turn of kids from St.John's in Swatragh and Maghera Primary School to discover the fascinating world of birds

Pupils in P3 at St.John's Primary School in Swatragh and P7 kids from Maghera Primary School are now taking part in a course on birds as part of Carntogher's biodiversity project Dúlra. The kids are learning about the importance of feeding birds, the threats birds face and how to identify common garden and woodland birds. Both classes have taken part in the Big Schools Garden Birdwatch and have put up feeders, a bird table and made bird food.
