Feis Charn Tóchair: Scholarship Presentation.
A scholarship award ceremony took place on Friday 18 December. These were the scholarships won by the students as part of Feis Charn Tóchair in June 2009.
There were just over 400 entries to the various competitions throughout the Feis. In the end, 11 students won scholarships to attend summer colleges in the Gaeltacht in Donegal.
Coiste Forbartha Charn Tóchair Carntogher Community Association would like to thank the Department of Rural, Community and Gaeltacht Affairs, Comhaltas Uladh, and also Magherafelt District Council for funding the Feis Scholarship fund.
The adjudicator of the Scholarship competitions, as part of Feis Charn Tóchair, Fearghal Mag Uiginn came back to present the scholarship awards to each of the students. As well as that, Deaglan Ó Doibhlin, Irish Language Development Officer for Magherafelt District Council and Neil Comer, President of Comhaltas Uladh were also in attendance and gave a few words of wisdom as to the value and importance such schemes are in supporting teenagers attend the Summer Colleges.
