Club Eachtra day out at the Brunswick Superbowl
On Saturday 4th February a group of 20 young people went bowling at the Brunswick in Derry
20 young people took the bus from An Carn on Saturday to go bowling in Derry. The outing was the first to be organized by Club Eachtra this year but it won' t be the last. The coach left An Carn at 12:00 and when it arrived lunch was ready and waiting for the hungry group.
With lunch over there was time to walk around and play the slot machines or get a photo taken before going bowling. The group took over 4 alleys and had a grand time trying for the all elusive strike. There were many changes of tactic but the most unusual one was to throw the ball betwen the legs while facing away from the pins. But the tactic worked and a strike it was!!!
The group enjoyed the day out and spoke some Irish. Many of the group wasn' t used to speaking Irish outside the classroom but it was a good start and everyone is keen to improve on that and try to use the Irish language as much as possible on further trips.
On Friday 10th February the group will be meeting up at An Carn after school to chill out and prepare their webpage.
