Tirnoney Dolmen Tirnoney Dolmen
 

1) St. Luragh's Old Church

St Luragh, patron of Maghera, was of the Uí Thuirte dynasty which ruled mid-Ulster in early Christian times.

2) Tirnoney Dolmen

This fine stone age tomb is located one mile north west of Maghera just off the Tirkane Road.

3) Tirkane Sweat House

A man made dry-stone cave used to cure pains and fever in a secluded glen in Ballyknock.

4) Carntogher Mountain

There is a range of archaeological monuments on the mountain including stone age and bronze age tombs, cairns, standing stones and ancient roadways.

5) Knockoneill Court Tomb

This well preserved stone age monument was added to by bronze age tomb builders.

6)Drumnaph Ancient Wood

A natural hazel woodland which preserves a fragment of ancient landscape.
