Carntogher Volunteers recognised by Millennium Volunteer scheme
Young volunteers from Carntogher were recently presented with certificates recognising their voluntary efforts and contribution to their community.
The event was held in the An Carn Centre and the young volunteers received both 50 & 100 hour awards from the Millennium Awards scheme which is designed to promote and recognise volunteering among young people aged 16 - 24.
The volunteers have worked with Carntogher Community Association over the last year and have been involved in various activities such as Irish language promotion, festival assistants, marketing, supervisors and shop assistants to name a few. The scheme offers the volunteers a challenge and the opportunity to particiapte, learn & develop while impacting on their own community.
Anyone aged between 16-24 and who are interested in finding out more about volunteering for Carntogher Community Association and Millennium Volunteers should contact Claire on 028 7954 9978.
